About This Winery

The Yazgan family is one of the oldest wine producers in Turkey. Spanning four generations, this family-owned producer has its winery in Izmir situated on the Aegean Region of Turkey.

Yazgan was founded by Mr. Huseyin Yazgan in 1943. Born in Greece, near Thessaloniki, he moved to Izmir during the population exchange earlier in the past century bringing with him all his viticulture and oenology knowledge. The Yazgan family today continues operations utilizing not only modern technology but ensuring Mr. Yazgan’s traditional methods of wine production are preserved. The last couple of years has also seen the addition of Antoine Bastide D’Izard to the Yazgan team as the winemaker bringing with him 17 years of production experience.

Yazgan’s Cepnidere vineyard, located in Turgutlu some 28 miles from the Aegean cost, is situated 330 feet above sea level and sprawled across 30 hectares all of which influenced by the warm Mediterranean-like climate.

Grape varietals planted at this site include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdo and Pinot Noir. With an annual production capacity of 7.5 million liters, Yazgan has also established partnerships with various grape producers sourcing the best indigenous varietals as well such as Emir, Boğazkere, Öküzgözü and Kalecik Karasi.

Cultivated with French practices adapted to the terrior, Yazgan’s mission has always been to produce the best quality Turkish wines that will satisfy the expectations of wine lovers all around the World.
