20 Mar Selendi and Pasaeli wines win big at 2016 TexSom International Wine Awards

VinoRai is proud to announce that wines from our Selendi and Pasaeli portfolio were big winners at the recent 2016 TEXSOM International Wine Awards. The awards garnered almost 3,200 entries representing 25 countries and 25 US states. The entries were blind-tasted and judged by 67 internationally renowned industry influencers from 10 countries.

The Selendi Artist Series Red was awarded a prestigious Award of Excellence. Of the 3,200 wines only 47 wines were designated Award of Excellence. The 2013 Selendi is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc, and is grown in the Aegean region. Selendi has been exclusively imported to the United States by VinoRai since 2013.

Four wines from our Pasaeli portfolio, from the Aegean and Thrace regions, were also awarded silver and bronze honors:

  • 2014 Pasaeli, Yapincak (silver)
  • 2014 Pasaeli, Dry Rosé, Çalkarasi (bronze)
  • 2013 Pasaeli, 6N, Karasakiz-Merlot (silver)
  • 20111 Pasaeli, K2, Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc-Merlot-Petit Verdot (bronze)

As the first Turkish wines to be elevated to stardom by the world’s most qualified tasting panel at TexSom, it is yet another honor earned by winemaker Andrea Paoletti who consults for Selendi and Pasaeli.
